Tattoo?

Lately I've really been wanting a tattoo. I've constantly been looking at inspiration on Pinterest and other sites of people with deer tattoos. Yes... I said deer. Why a deer, you say? Well one- I love deer. I've kind of been going through a deer phase for the past year or so, Alaska might be inspiration? I'm not sure but that brings me to reason two- it will always remind me of being a newlywed. It will remind me of our happy newlywed life here in the Last Frontier and I never want to forget that.
I want it on my inner forearm but I'm not sure if I want to go with a realistic looking deer or a cute cartoon one. I always thought that I wanted it to be just black but there are some really cute deer tattoos in color. There is just so much to think about.. this thing will be on me for the rest of my life! I never thought I would seriously be considering a tattoo but I think it's time (don't tell my dad!).

The following pictures are my inspiration!

Ah! Should I do it?!

I Must Go

You guys. YOU GUYS!
GUESS WHAT??! I heard the most tremendous news ever.
Are you ready? Camera Obscura is performing in Seattle this June. While this is so so awesome, there is a problem... like that I live in Anchorage, Alaska and wasn't planning on going to Washington until August this year. However, I don't think I can pass up this opportunity. I didn't think Camera Obscura was going to tour again but because they're debuting a new album this summer (yay!) they are, indeed, going on tour! So I have to go, right? I have to buy two tickets, make my sister (who doesn't know who they are) go with me, oh and also buy a plane ticket down there for the weekend. I really love them though and listen to them constantly... that's a good enough reason to go, right? Plus I'll get to see my family again! Whom I haven't seen since September! Way too long. Besides, I might've already requested the weekend off from work... just in case.

I feel like I've already made my decision.

Anyone else seeing them this summer?
Yup. Definitely made my decision.

Hubby Bear's Birthday!

It's Michael's birthday today! He's 22 now, the old fart.
My poor husband, unfortunately, has to work on his birthday this year and he's stuck doing training all day! Hopefully I can lift his spirits this evening when I bring him his favorite dinner (which is something I make all the time. I asked him to name anything in the world to eat and he said chicken strips, mashed potatoes and asparagus... this guy) and a chocolate chocolate cake (something I never make).
Now, in honor of his 22nd birthday, I feel I must list 22 things I have been lovin' about this cutie bear:

1. his face. I just want to kiss it all day
2. when he randomly hugs me in the middle of the night
3. that he raves about my cooking
4. how he's always always warm
3. when he kisses my entire face before leaving for work
4. that he left a note on the door to the garage not to forget to kiss his wife
5. how he always smells so good
6. his body. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty awesome.
7. when he speaks for Walter in his dumb Walter voice
8. that he takes care of himself
9. but still eats whatever he wants and still looks good (if I'm honest I kind of hate that too)
10. that he hogs the bed
11. he cleans the kitchen after I cook
12. that he's always so honest
13. when I make him laugh, because his laugh is cute
14. that he brushes and cleans Walter's ears every day... trust me, that's a big deal
15. how he always seems happy to see me
16. when he calls me his love bear
17. the way he looks in his beanies
18. his sweet prayers before dinner
19. this one face he makes after he says something silly or corny. I'm sorry, I can't even explain it
20. his hair
21. when I see signs that tell me he'll be the best father ever
22. that he does what he loves for a living and looks hot doing it

Happy Birthday, Michael!
 I love you

My Month with Meryl Recap

I finished my Month with Meryl and, though I didn't watch every movie on the list (still a little disappointed with myself about it), it was a month full of Meryl indeed. I feel like I really know her and that I can say I'm a true fan of hers now. She is, simply put, the best. The best, you guys! I forgot that she was the same person after each movie I watched. There were times that I really felt I connected with her... a moment with Meryl if you will, like when she's on the stand in Kramer vs Kramer, or recalling her tragic memories of Auschwitz in Sophie's Choice, or her speech at Denys's funeral in Out of Africa, or (despite how hard it was to look at her) when she sang "He's My Pal" in Ironweed and "You Don't Know Me" in Postcards from the Edge. The lady knows what she's doin'.

Okay so here's the list, as you can see there are four movies I didn't get around to watching... perhaps the movie-a-day goal was a little ambitious. She's great in everything I saw but I bolded the movies that are must-sees in my opinion. Some really stick with you and some are like what the heck did I just watch? (*cough cough* Death Becomes Her)

Julia (1977)
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Manhattan (1979)
Kramer vs Kramer (1979)
The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981)
Sophie's Choice (1982)
Falling in Love (1984)
Out of Africa (1985)
Plenty (1985)
Heartburn (1986)
Ironweed (1987)
Evil Angels (1988)
She-Devil (1989)
Postcards from the Edge (1990)
Defending Your Life (1991)
Death Becomes Her (1992)
The River Wild (1994)
The Bridges of Madison County (1995)
Marvin's Room (1996)
Dancing at Lughnasa (1998)
One True Thing (1998)
Music of the Heart (1999)
Adaptation (2002)
The Hours (2002)
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004)
Prime (2005)
The Music of Regret (2006)
The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Dark Matter (2007)
Rendition (2007)
Lion for Lambs (2007)
Mamma Mia! (2008)
Doubt (2008)
Julie & Julia (2009)
It's Complicated (2009)
The Iron Lady (2011)
Hope Springs (2012

To wrap up, this was a fun goal and I'm glad I did it. One day I hope to watch every movie that won an Academy Award for Best Picture, but I'll save that goal for another time. Thanks for following my Month with Meryl with me!
